more white love, and hearts

we are still painting this house. with every wall that gets painted, i love it more!  *still painting a wall a day, or whatever can be done during nap time* white is beautiful. it feels so good. everything looks beautiful next to it. did i mention i love it??!

hearts are popping up around here. lizzy and i made the garland for the fireplace last year. {tutorial found here} we will hang more hearts in the windows this afternoon. *i must wait for my little helper* what would i do without holidays?... thanks mom for always making them special and being a keeper of tradition. i hope i can do the same for my children.

love, love, love

i love, love, love WHITE, and my new wainscoting! no more muddy grey for me. i've been painting one wall a day while my baby boy sleeps, which i've decided i like better than doing it all at once. slow change is easier for me. i love it when i get it right!

pictures from december...

It's Saturday and my Mr. is at work, Lizzy is playing mine craft (?) on the iPad with Ben downstairs, and my baby boy is asleep. So, I finally take a moment to post a few of our Christmas pictures. I don't    know exactly how my days fly by so quickly, but they do.

At the moment I find myself in the middle of redecorating our family living/kitchen area. After trying 2 different paint colors and hating both, I've decided I love white. It makes me feel calm. My home feels clean and I feel like I can breathe. I painted the entry white first and I can't stop looking at how pretty it is. Even empty it's beautiful! Wainscoting is being installed right now in a square pattern that continues the pattern of windows throughout the house. It's been a fun and exhausting project, and I'm nowhere near finished. The hardest thing for me is taking things a day at a time. Needless to say, I'm still learning patience.

check it out!

How great are these? We were looking around a used book store on main Saturday afternoon, and came across 12 vintage friend magazines! Initially the covers caught my fancy, (the vintage art is to die for. They are going in frames in L's room...eventually) but I was so intrigued when I began to flip through the pages. They are filled with comics, crafts, recipes, and as tradition would have it, endless wisdom. We are using them for family home evening tonight!

They are everything I live for. The gospel, family, tradition, values, vintage art, wisdom, crafts, and food. What's not to love? Yippee!

The $250.00 Bargain

So I found this chaise at Downeast Home a few weeks ago that had funky legs and was missing a pillow.   I immediately recognized the potential and fell in love with it.  I asked the manager how much he would sell it to me for and he thought for a minute and said, "how about $250?"  SOLD!  I brought it home in the Volvo (got'ta love it) and already had these legs from Ikea to put on it.  I was wandering through Downeast the other day, and what to my wandering eyes should appear?  MY OTHER PILLOW!  Sitting on a couch that was similar in color but not the match!  They remembered me and let me have my missing pillow.  Bless their little hearts.  Now the question is, what to do with 3 couches?
